Scholarships
The Ora Van Buskirk Bequest To MU chapter, Eta State of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, the sum of ten thousand and no/100 dollars ($10,000.00). This bequest is restricted and may only be invested, with the interest therefrom to be used to provide an annual scholarship to a member of the chapter who is working toward an advanced degree to improve her work as a teacher or educational administrator. In the event that no member uses the scholarship in any given year, the interest shall be added to the amount of the award of the coming year. If no such scholarship awarded for three (3) consecutive years, the accumulated interest for those three (3) years shall be added to the principal of the investment. This award is to be known as the Ora Van Buskirk Award, in the memory of Ora Pace VanBuskirk. Application Qualifications for Ora VanBuskirk Scholarship Each applicant must:

Kate Parks Kitchin Grant-in-Aid On April 14, 1994, the Kate Parks Kitchin Grant-in-Aid was established to recognize the outstanding influences and contributions of this charter member. The grant is awarded to a female education major who attends North Carolina Wesleyan or Barton College. The two colleges will alternate years for having a recipient. The faculty of the School of Education of each college will nominate the recipient. |
